Gym 'n Learn Graduation

Alexis had her last day of Gym 'n Learn class.  They had an adorable graduation ceremony following class.  They even had cute caps and gowns.  Alexis will miss her teachers, Miss Elizabeth and Miss Carrie.  The teachers took all of the kids' art projects and bound them into books for the kids to take home.  Today was an exciting day!

Twilight in Athens

Date night for Dane and I...yeah!  MeMaw babysat the girls and we went downtown Athens and meet our friends, Katie and Mark at the Basil Press for an adult only dinner.  (They got a babysitter too)  Finally a dinner that doesn't consist of chicken nuggets or mac 'n cheese.  It was a nice dinner and right on the bike route so we could see the women's race from the restaurant.  After dinner we went across the street to watch the men's bike race.  They race around downtown about 70 times give or take.  We were watching at a sharp turn and saw several big wipe outs.  It was like a dominos effect.  One would go and then about 10 guys behind would fall too.  It was exciting to watch.  Apparently this twilight race is an annual tradition and has been going on for 30 + years.  While downtown, we ran into my friend, Lindsay (also our neighbor) and her boyfriend, Jeff.  It was amazing how many people were downtown.  There were even people watching the race from the trees...I am not kidding!

Matchy Match

The girls are dressed alike which is not a rare sighting. They are so cute and I had to capture the moment. They were playing cars today. Usually the bins are their "boats" but today the bins were their "cars".
Izzie's hair is finally growing out. See the faux pony tail ontop of her head.

Take Your Daughter To Work Day

l
Alexis joined Daddy for an hour at his job. It is National Take Your Daughter (they changed it to Kid now to be politically correct) To Work Day. Don't get me started on the whole P.C. thing. I am so sick of people always getting offended over something. It is like we can not have traditions in this country anymore without them being altered in some way.

Dane is a Maintenance Technician at our apts. He usually spends his day fixing things. But every day, he and his co-workers walk the entire property, picking up litter and doggie pooh. So Alexis joined him for his morning walk. She even dressed in their uniform colors and wore a Benchmark hat. She rode around in the golf cart which is the fun part of Daddy's job and even attempted to pick up dog pooh with a pooper scooper.

Gymnastics...Look At Me

Alexis is in a program called Gym 'n Learn. It's a great program that she absolutely loves. It's 2 hrs in the morning, twice per week. The first hour is gymnastics and the second hour is spent in a classroom doing pre-school type learning activities. Alexis adores her two teachers, Miss Carrie and Miss Elizabeth. In the photos is Carrie. They both are the sweetest teachers!! They both are students at UGA. The other great thing is that I get a couple hours just Izzie and I to run errands, or even go home and hang out until its time to pick up Lexie again. She graduates next week, I think they actually have little caps and gowns. How cute will that be?! I think this program has helped prepare Alexis for FT pre-k this fall. She has learned to sit, listen to instructions from her teachers and just the structure of a classroom setting.

Lounging Around

Lexie and Uncle Nick played Legos together. Nick and Marlin snuggled on the floor as we watched the movie, Twilight.

The Firehouse

We went to Five Points Fire Station where Dane's friend, Matt works. We got a personal tour of the station and the kids got to play on the fire trucks.

Easter at MeMaw & Papa's

Lexie enjoyed a relaxing visit with MeMaw on the swing.
All the guys and boys got together for a game of touch football. A holiday tradition!
Izzie really got into the easter egg hunt especially once she figured out how to open the plastic eggs and found candy inside.
Matthew found the golden egg.

Skateboarding and WOW Park

We took my little brother, Nick to the Athens skateboard park. He is awesome at skateboarding especially at his age. We didn't stay long because there were so many skateboarders and the ramps were always busy. Afterwards, we went to WOW park and Lexie played on playground. Izzie stayed in the car with Grandpa Bob and napped. After we were finished, we go to leave and my Suburban won't start. Grrrr. I was praying it would be something cheap. Dane meets us at the park to jump start us and luckily Bob (car guru) was there because he knew immediately what the problem was, my battery needed to be replaced. Yay...batteries are not too expensive. We bought a new battery and have not had an issue since.

Our Day At The Farm

The family playing the dice game, eating, eating, laughing, and eating. We always have fun when we get our family together.
Anne was the winner of the dice game. Boo...I never win. Good times!

Dane riding Savannah (his previous show horse) for the last time. Daniel just sold her. It was sad to see her go, she is so sweet but there are plenty of other horses to ride.

Riding Niles, The Camel

Anne, my step-mom...
That goofy lady is me...the pictures do not give it justice to how high I was.
My brother, Nick...

We all took turns riding Niles, my brother in-law's trained camel. We had a great time seeing all the animals at Daniel's farm. Horses, owls, ravens (Daniel owns the Baltimore Ravens' mascots), parrots, donkey, goats, dogs, and cats. Many which are trained. Whenever we have out-of-town guests we have to make sure we take them to the farm.

Grandma & Grandpa Parkos

Madison Magnolia Tree

We found a gigantic magnolia tree while in Madison. Dane climbed almost to the top. The kids had fun hanging by all the limbs. They looked like a bunch of monkeys.
