Amelia Clara's Baptism

We attended my friend, Julee's baby, Amelia's baptism at Central Presb. It was a wonderful ceremony and service and Amelia did so well. I got Amelia a cute little bonnet to wear and the box said that she wears it to her baptism and then years down the road snip a couple strings and the bonnet turns into a beautiful hankerchif to use on her wedding day.

Tea Party with The Sweeteas

We along with MeMaw went to Plain Janes Boutique (my new favorite shop in 5 points) for an exclusive tea party with Author, Rochelle Frazier who wrote and illustrated the fabulous Southern delight called Sweeteas and she has a whole series of wonderful books. I am just a sucker for all things Southern! One of my favorite lines in the book is, "These are the things every Southern girls should know, 'cause it's true the farther South, the sweeter they grow!" Of course, I absolutely love the Southern phrase, "I declare" and will make every effort to use it in my day to day vocabulary. I think it will jive nicely with my "you betcha" and "rivah" thanks to my time lived in Minnesota and Virginia...add a little Georgia in the mix and voila! Date Night with Modern Skirts

We had a nice and much needed date night at the Botanical Gardens tonight to see an outdoor concert featuring White Violet and Modern Skirts. Both bands are outstanding local bands and totally our type of music. We met up with some friends at the concert, Julee & Gordon, Tara & Mark and Andrea & Sean. We had a giant picnic dinner with the best gourmet foods Trader Joe's and Publix offers.

Lexie Working Out With Papaw

Lexie held the pads for Papaw and hit the heavy bag too. When Lexie was asked what she thought about working out with Papaw she said, "Fun". Simple yet to the point.

VBS Wet 'n Wild

It's the last day of VBS and the girls enjoyed a fun water day with a waterslide, slip 'n' slide, water games, snow cones, treats and more. What a great way to end such a fantastic week.

VBS & Cali'n'Titos

The girls started VBS this week at Central Presb. and absolutely love it! They are having so much fun, hanging out with their friends, Ryan and Connor and meeting new friends too. They love the little bible buddies that they get at the end of each day. For me, it has been weird but nice to have my mornings free. This is the first time both Lexie and Izzie have been able to do an activity together. Up until this year, Izzie has always been too young. She has been thrilled to go to vacation bible school. After VBS, Julee and I took the kids to Cali'n'titos for some much craved fish tacos...they make 'em the best!!

Father's Day Art Project

Father's Day is near and we decided to decorate picture frames. The girls enjoyed making a giant mess with the finger paints. They turned out so cute!!

Park Time

I took the girls up to Timothy Elem. Playground and was delighted to see that the entire fenced playground was nicely shaded. We had the whole playground to ourselves and the girls let out some much needed steam and energy.

Girls Night Out!

My friends and I all went out for some much needed "girlie girl time". We went to a new French restaurant downtown which was delicious! Fab food with fab friends...what an awesome night!!

Afternoon with Brother Michael

Dane, the girls and his parents went to the Monastery to visit Brother Michael and see the newly constructed grounds which includes a brand new museum, cafe and gift shop.

Working Out With Papaw

Dane is helping his Dad get his health back by creating a workout regimn and nutritional plan. So far the results have been excellent! His Dad is in much better spirits and seems very serious about this health.

Swimming Playdate...Wingless

We went to Julee's to cool off from this heat...it was fun getting the Moms together and all the kids! At one point pretty much all the kids were swimming without life vests or swim wings. Both Lexie and Izzie swam across the pool several times without the assistance of any wings. I was so amazed at how quickly they learned!
