Is The Water Cold?

Kiddie Pool

The kids splish splashed in the kiddie pool after school to cool off from the heat. These days there has been lots of pool time and popsicles!

Short But Sweet Visit

Grandpa Bob took his annual business trip in the south and made sure to make a stop in Athens to visit us. While the trip was very short, it was very sweet! The girls sure miss all of their MN extended family. Its so cute because Isabelle calls him Grandpa Anne. I think the girls are still trying to figure out who is who. It doesn't help that we live so far away. Thank goodness for modern day technology such as Skype!

Easter Egg Hunt #3

After going to an amazing Easter egg hunt with Julee's family at their church, we had our own little Easter Egg hunt at our house on Easter afternoon. My in-laws, niece and nephew also came over. For several years in a row, Matthew has found the 'Golden Egg'! He was so sweet and felt bad for always finding it so he gave the 'Golden Egg' to Alexis. He is such a sweetie!
We enjoyed delicious ham and all the traditional fixins. It wasn't long after eating that I had to change into my 'stretchy pants'.

Easter Egg Hunt at Kati's

After school I took the girls over to my friend, Kati's house for an Easter Egg Hunt. She has 4 daughters, 3 of which go to St. Joe's too. Her two youngest daughters, Holly and Lilah are friends with Alexis and Isabelle. After they had lots of chocolate in their systems then it was time to go home and de-sugarize them!

It's A-live!

This photo is hilarious and makes me laugh hysterically. Yes, we played with our "food" before eating it. We got a whole bunch of fresh crawfish from the Farmer's Market and cooked them with Louisiana Spices to add a good kick to the tongue. They were delicious!

Visitors From the Arctic

Our friends, Nicholas and Yoshi from Minnesota came down for the weekend to visit us. I am sure they also needed a break from the freezing temperatures up north too. We went to the Decatur Farmer's Market and Yoshi showed me how to make Katsudon an authentic Japanese recipe that is amazing and he showed me the easiest way to make rice. It was a quick but relaxing trip and it was just nice to catch up with them!! Isabelle has been talking about Yoshi non-stop since he has left.

We Love Our "A-Bro"

I was looking through old photos of me with my brother and sisters and happened across one of my favorites! At the expense of my brother, I would like to share one of our favorite things to do. Dress-up in Mom's old 80's bridesmaid dresses. He may call it torture and since there were 3 of us girls and only 1 of him, he thus became "just one of the girls". We love you Adam!!
p.s. Happy Birthday!!

Lexie's Soccer Game

Each week Alexis is pulling out new skills out of her back pocket! I can really see improvement and now that she is making friends with some of her teammates, I think she is enjoying Soccer even more. I love watching the games!! I have officially added a new title to my "hat", Soccer Mom!! Marlin is the team mascot so he attends the games. Lexie's team name is the Great Danes.

Izzie's Besties

Izzie and I met up with Julee, Ryan, Connor and Amelia at the park. The boys had their Big Wheels and Izzie had her new 'big girl bike' with training wheels. The three kids had a blast biking together. They played on the huge playground and we had a little picnic lunch. Isabelle is always talking about Connor this and Connor that. She says, "Hims my best friend!" when speaking of Connor. haha They are so sweet together.

Cali~n~titos

Waiting for the best fish tacos ever! The kids...and Dane...played on the very random playground equipment outside. This restaurant is mostly outdoor dining. Its great because the kids play while the adults eat at surrounding tables. Occasionally the kids will come grab a bite and then resume playing. I can not tell you how awesomely delicious their fish tacos are and the fried Yuca! Ahhh...I want some now!!

Date Night at Five & Ten

Our dearest friend's Gordon and Julee surprised us with a date night to Five and Ten restaurant downtown. I would say this is by far the finest dining establishment in Athens (in my opinion). The food was absolutely amazing!!! The wine was equally superb...Italian wine of course! I found out that the Owner/Chef of this restaurant is currently on Top Chef Masters TV show, Chef Hugh Acheson. It makes watching that show pretty fun since I can say that I have throughly enjoyed his creations. Hands down we will be making this one of our 'regular' date night stops!
