Tara's 5K

We went downtown to watch Tara run a 5K race. She did awesome as usual! She recently competed in a Triathelon. Kudos to her...but I think I will stay on the sidelines as an all-time cheerleader.

Laundry Helpers

The girls got dressed in their church clothes and even helped me with laundry! Now if I could get them to be as excited about putting their toys away.

Bogart Pool

We went swimming with Alexis' friend, Nathan from school and his family at the Bogart Pool. We all had so much fun! Its a nice way to spend the afternoon!

Lexie Learns To Tie Her Shoes

I set out to teach Lexie how to tie her shoes before the end of summer. Little did I know that she would learn how to do it just after showing her twice! This cutie patootie is so smart!! No more velcro for Lexie-poo!

Day 1: School is out, kids are at home, with all the fun and sun things summer brings, it also brings the tantrums, the whining and the total exhaustion. Bring it on!! I am ready, I've got my game face on. I've devised a plan made up of a calendar of events and organization.

End Of School Hawaiian Party

We joined both Kindergarten classes for a fun Hawaiian Luau to celebrate the end of the school year.

Coach Dane

Alexis soccer coach was MIA...Dane stepped in and coach practice today. He showed the kids some new tricks for Saturdays game.

Swimming with Ashley Rose

This year we carpooled with a nice SJS family with an 8th grader, Ashley Rose. She has been like a "Big Sister" to Alexis and Isabelle. The girls just adore her. Ashley Rose is entering High School next year and will no longer be at SJS. We sure will miss her!

Family Camping in South Carolina

We went tent camping together for the first time all 4.5 of us...the half is the dog. We went to the beautiful Lake Hartwell and stayed at a fantastic campground in South Carolina. We had so much fun!! We went fishing, we ate all the traditional camping food groups...hot dogs and marshmellows. We went hiking and swimming. It was really relaxing! We are all looking forward to camping again!

SJS Yearbook Signing

Alexis has a great day at school and got all kinds of autographs in her yearbook from her friends. I captured some pictures of Alexis with her teacher, Mrs. Kelly, her prayer partner, Helen, her friends and of course her little sis, Izzie.

Back In The Game

My friend, Julee and I are both in our sister's weddings. We have a plan to have 6-packs and be lean, mean, fighting machines. Well...not the mean fighting machines but definitely the lean part! It is officially crunch time! Weddings are in a few short weeks. Tonight, I got back in the gym and feel great. It was nice to know I have not lost all the muscle and endurance I had built up.

Dress-up At Agora

After church we had brunch at the Last Resort and then walked down to Agora which is an eccletic thrift store. Alexis played a little dress-up while we roamed up an down the aisles...taking a stroll back into the 80s and in some cases the 70s.

Kiddie Pool

The kids splish splashed in the kiddie pool after school to cool off from the heat. These days there has been lots of pool time and popsicles!

Short But Sweet Visit

Grandpa Bob took his annual business trip in the south and made sure to make a stop in Athens to visit us. While the trip was very short, it was very sweet! The girls sure miss all of their MN extended family. Its so cute because Isabelle calls him Grandpa Anne. I think the girls are still trying to figure out who is who. It doesn't help that we live so far away. Thank goodness for modern day technology such as Skype!

Easter Egg Hunt #3

After going to an amazing Easter egg hunt with Julee's family at their church, we had our own little Easter Egg hunt at our house on Easter afternoon. My in-laws, niece and nephew also came over. For several years in a row, Matthew has found the 'Golden Egg'! He was so sweet and felt bad for always finding it so he gave the 'Golden Egg' to Alexis. He is such a sweetie!
We enjoyed delicious ham and all the traditional fixins. It wasn't long after eating that I had to change into my 'stretchy pants'.
