Lexie's Class Photo

Say Cheese! We are so lucky to have such a great Catholic School in Athens that really is benefiting Alexis! I have to report she has received 100% on every spelling test. Every week they get new spelling works and take a spelling test weekly too. She reads books now and amazes me everyday with what she has learned. She has really excelling in Math, learning to tell time, addition, subtraction and even basic fractions. I love that she also engages in P.E. and Arts (art, music, library, computers and Spanish). She is excited for next year as she enters the 1st grade!

Athens Mourning

Today is the funeral of Officer Buddy Christain who was killed in the line of duty. Murders are not something you hear of very often in Athens, especially for a Police Officer. The Mayor asked that everyone pay their respect by lining Atlanta Highway from Downtown Athens all the way to West Athens were the cemetary is located. I could not believe how many fellow Athenians came out on this particular cloudy, cold day. After just a couple days, they caught the murderer and I really saw how the people that live here really rally together and just how small this town can be. News travels fast and people are really close in this town and supportive of each other. I can say that I am all the more thankful to live in such a supportive and loving town! God Bless Buddy Christain and his loving wife and 2 small children!!

Greenville Zoo

Spring Break in Greenville

We went to Greenville, SC for Spring Break along with 4 other parents in the Kindergarten class. We went to the Greenville Zoo, had a picnic, went to downtown Greenville and did the Mice on Main tour that follows the storybook. We went down by the river and then had pizza before we left for home. Greenville is such a great place to vacation! It is very family-friendly, so many things to do, amazing restaurants and is unusually but surprisingly clean!

The Carousel Ponies

We were at the Mall of Georgia and the highlight by far was the Carousel! The girls were so excited and both picked out the horses they wanted to ride...Dane was excited too and picked out the horse he wanted to ride too.

Golden Gloves

I took the girls to watch Dane box in the Atlanta Golden Gloves. We were all very proud of him!!

Dane & Matthew

Matthew and Daniel went with Dane to Atlanta for boxing weigh-ins tonight for the Golden Gloves tomorrow.

Cake Pop Playdate

We went over to Julee's to have the kids play and I helped her and Erinn make cake pops for Julee's sister's bridal shower. We had a few mess-up pops that we tried and they were SO good! We had two flavors, chocolate and rum cake. Mmm-mmm-good!
